17 Year Old Male Shot

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Friday, October 22, 1999

On Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at approximately 10:25 P.M., a 17 year old male was standing outside of 7th Avenue and Vernon Avenue talking with a friend. The suspects, 3 male Blacks, approached on foot and held a conversation with the victim. The victim was shot in the upper body by one of the suspects and pronounced dead at scene by the responding RA unit. The suspects fled the location on foot. Suspects and weapon are still outstanding. The incident appears to be gang related.

Southwest Area Homicide Detectives Stan Evans and Frank Weber are handling the investigation. Anyone with information should contact the Los Angeles Police Department Southwest Area Homicide detectives at 213-485-7552.
