"Home Invasion Robbery Leaves One Dead"

Los Angeles: On September 30, 2000, at approximately 8:00 pm, a 32 year old female was followed into her residence at 7900 block of South Hoover Street by a female black, 25/27 years of age, who pointed a gun at her and demanded money. At this time the resident's boyfriend entered the house, surprising the female with the gun. The female then fired several shots striking the victim multiple times in the chest.

The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot eastbound on 79th Street towards Figueroa Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital by a rescue ambulance where he died as a result of his wounds. The suspect and weapon are still being sought.

The victim has been identified as Rodney Tripplett, 32 years of age.

77th Street Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation and asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call them at 213-485 1383 or the Watch Commanded at 213-485-2389.
