"Shooting Claims One"

Los Angeles - On Friday, October 13, 2000, at approximately 12:30 a.m., victim Mike Anthony Urbina, male Hispanic, 20 years of age, was standing on the 1600 block of West Temple Street. Numerous witnesses heard several gunshots and observed Urbina enter a local bar located on the same block in which he was shot. Urbina was suffering from a gunshot wound when patrons from inside the bar transported him to an area hospital.

Urbina soon died upon arriving at the hospital as a result of his wounds. The motive for this shooting appears to be gang related. The suspect and weapon are outstanding.

Rampart Homicide Detective Yvette Gonzalez is conducting the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact the Rampart Homicide Unit, at 213-207-2051.
