"Pedestrian Dies from Traffic Collision"

Tujunga - On Monday, October 16, 2000, at approximately 7:40 a.m., a Traffic Collision occurred on Foothill Boulevard at Pinewood Avenue, involving one vehicle, and a pedestrian who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk. This collision resulted in the death of the pedestrian, a male Hispanic, approximately 40 years of age.

The pedestrian was transported to Pacifica of the Valley Hospital, but failed to respond to treatment.

The vehicle involved in the traffic collision was a 1985 Ford F-250 truck and the driver was an off duty Sergeant with the Glendale Police Department. Identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of relatives.

The investigation is on going and the driver was interviewed and released.
