"Homicide Detectives Seeking Witnesses to a Murder"

Los Angeles - On Monday, October 23, 2000 at approximately 1:00 a.m, Southwest Division patrol officers responded to an "ambulance shooting" call in the 4200 block of Western Avenue. Upon their arrival at the scene, officers found victim Reginald Millsaps described as a 20 year-old male African-American, lying near the rear entrance of a building he was employed to protect. Mr. Millsaps was employed as a uniformed security officer for Burns International Security services. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to a gunshot wound to the torso.

The suspect responsible for this incident has not been identified. The motive at this stage of the investigation is unknown.

The Los Angles Police Department is seeking the assistance of the community and urging any witnesses or persons with information regarding this murder to contact Detectives Rick Gordon or Pete Razanskas at Southwest Homicide Detectives, 213-485-2417.
