"Gang Related Beating Leaves Victim Dead"

Pacoima: On Thursday, October 26, 2000 at 6:45 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a "Battery Investigation" at the 10100 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, in the Pacoima area of Foothill Division. The preliminary investigation indicated the victim, identified as a 20-year-old male, Hispanic, resident of Pacoima, had been beaten. Unknown suspects attacked the victim during the early morning hours, and left him on the sidewalk of a major thoroughfare. The victim was found dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The suspects have not been identified and the motive for this crime is believed to be gang related.

The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in capturing the suspects and is asking witnesses to come forward with any information.
