"Juvenile Driving Stolen Car Dies in Crash"

Panorama City - On Sunday, October 29, 2000, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a seventeen year old juvenile, driving a reported stolen 1989 Toyota Camry was travelling southbound on San Fernando Road near Central Avenue. He apparently lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway, colliding with a tree. The driver suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding rescue personnel. The driver was a resident of Panorama City.

The juvenile's name has not been released due to his age and pending notification of next of kin. It is unknown at this time, whether the incident involved substance or alcohol use by the juvenile.

The investigation is being conducted by Valley Traffic Division Detectives. Anyone with information regarding this incident should call Detective Huerta at Valley Traffic Division, 818-756-8381.
