Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Wilshire Community Police Station will be hosting their annual March Against Crime on Tuesday, October 2, 2001, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The purpose of the event is to foster positive community-police partnerships and to educate community members to realize a sense of empowerment in our mutual efforts to help combat and reduce the fear and incidence of crime.

The 2.0 mile march will begin at Marvin Avenue / Washington Boulevard and proceed towards La Brea Boulevard / Washington Boulevard, then finish at Marvin Elementary School. This peaceful march will be shared among law-abiding residents in the community and local police officers to achieve a community free from crime and disorder.

The march will be informative and fun for all. Wilshire Community Police Station Captain, Kirk Albanese, and Senior Lead Officer Charles Thomas will attend the event and will be available to speak with community members regarding issues of concern in the area.

Refreshments will be provided for all.
