"Foothill Homicide Detectives Investigate the Murder of a 50 year old Store Owner"

 

Sylmar: On Wednesday, October 17, 2001, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to an "Unknown Trouble" radio call at the Chalet Liquor store, on the 14000 block of Hubbard Street in Sylmar. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered the victim, Ramez Younan, a 50-year old resident of Granada Hills and owner of the liquor store, shot to death behind the counter.

The motive for the murder is unknown. The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.

Foothill Homicide Detectives are handling this investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Detectives J. Freund, C. Lenane or E.
