"Robbery Homicide Detectives Continue Search for
Murderer"
Sunland-Tujunga: On Thursday, October 11, 2001, at approximately
2:35 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department received a telephone call from
a community member that a possible homicide had occurred in the 10100 block
of Commerce Avenue in the Sunland-Tujunga area. Foothill area patrol
officers responded to a condominium complex and discovered the bodies of one
male and one female adult, both of whom had been murdered. Foothill Area
Homicide Detectives and Robbery-Homicide Division Detectives responded to
the scene.
UPDATED INFORMATION:
Robbery-Homicide Division detectives are continuing the
investigation of the murders of Kimberly Crayton, age 20, and Arthur
Davodian, age 22, which occurred on October 11, 2001 in the 10100 block of
Commerce Street in the Sunland/Tujunga area. The investigation determined
that one of the victims had been decapitated.
On Thursday, October 18, 2001, the head of the decapitated
victim was found by a community member a short distance from the murder
scene. The head was transported to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office
for examination.
The investigation is continuing. No suspects have been
identified. The motive for the crimes has not been determined.
The investigation is being handled by Robbery-Homicide Division. Anyone
