Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department in partnership with Councilwoman Hahn, the Los Angeles Port Police, the California Highway Patrol, and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation will hold a press conference at the Harbor Area Community Police Station to provide a public service announcement regarding the reopening of the Port and to request the assistance of the commercial truck drivers and the public in ensuring a smooth transition while facilitating the movement of cargo out of the Harbor Area.

It is anticipated that there may be a significant increase in commercial traffic in and around the Port area. In an effort to increase public awareness and address the fears and concerns of the community, the LAPD, Port Police, CHP and LADOT are reminding commercial driver’s that oversize vehicles should not be driven or parked in residential areas and are requesting strict adherence to the traffic laws.

For further information, contact Captain Julie Nelson, Commanding Officer, Harbor Community Police Station 310-548-7601.
