Community is Invited To 13th Annual Open House

"Community is Invited To 13th Annual Open House"

What:
13th Annual Open House

When:
Saturday, October 12, 2002, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where:
Pacific Area Community Police Station, 12312 Culver Boulevard

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Area Community Police Station will host it’s 13th Annual Open House sponsored by the Pacific Area Community Police Advisory Board.

This year’s open house will feature a "Shoot/Don’t Shoot" video simulator for the adults. There will also be a mock traffic stop scenario, where community members can "play cop" and get a feel for what an officer goes through on a daily basis.

Special interest to parents will be free fingerprinting and children’s moon bouncer as well as stations tours, crime prevention booths, static displays and handgun trigger lock giveaways.

In addition, those attending will be able to talk to members of the Bomb Squad, k-9, Bicycle Unit, Communications Division, Recruitment and see police cars from the North Hollywood shoot out.

Members of the United States Marine Corps from Camp Pendleton will be present and will be selling authentic dog tags for a nominal fee.

This will be an excellent opportunity to highlight the LAPD and it’s Community Policing efforts to our diverse Los Angeles communities.

Further questions regarding the open house can be directed to the Pacific Division Community Relations Office at 310-202-4524.

This Media Advisory was prepared by Public Information Officer Lucy Diaz, Media Relations Section, 213-485-3586.
