Los Angeles: On Monday, October 28, 2002, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Van Nuys Area Officers were flagged down by a community member at the 15700 block of Marlin Street. The person told the officers that his friend, later identified as 54 year-old, Roberto Alonso Caceres, needed medical help.

The person directed the officers to Caceres’ location. The officers discovered Caceres to be unresponsive and a rescue ambulance was summoned. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics arrived and transported Caceres to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the death has not been determined. However, it is believed that Caceres was at the location receiving treatment from a healer. He began convulsing after being administered an injection.

On October 28, 2002, two Los Angeles residents were arrested for the murder of Caceres. Arrested and booked for Involuntary Manslaughter, 28 year-old Margarita Montes and 48 year-old Reina Chaverria are being held for $25,000 bail.
