Store Clerk Killed During Store Robbery

 

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at about 8:05 p.m., Newton patrol officers responded to a radio call of an ambulance shots fired at the Avalon Discount Store located in the 4000 block of south Avalon Boulevard. When the officers arrived, they saw the store clerk, 58 year-old Josef Javaheri on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The investigation revealed that two male Black suspects in their mid 20’s, entered the store, pointed a handgun at Javaheri and demanded money. One of the suspects then shot Javaheri multiple times. The suspects left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Javaheri to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
