Crime Task Force Targeting the Wilshire Area

Los Angeles: On Saturday, October 25, 2003, dozens of Los Angeles Police Department officers from Wilshire Area will focus on violent crime and community quality of life issues, in an effort to reduce crime in the Mid-Wilshire Area. This Task Force will emphasize the apprehension of Grand Theft Auto, Burglary from Motor Vehicle and Burglary suspects.

Operations will commence at 12:00 p.m. and will continue until 4:00a.m., the next morning. There will be zero tolerance for traffic violations and criminal acts in the affected area. Recent task forces have resulted in hundreds of traffic citations, vehicle impounds and dozens of arrests. Additional task forces to combat violent crime and improve the quality of life will continue throughout the year.

The target zone is the area bordered by Olympic Boulevard on the North, Washington Boulevard on the South, Crenshaw Boulevard on the West and Hoover Boulevard on the East.
