Detectives seek leads on Fatal Walk-Up Shooting
Los Angeles: On Sunday, October 26, 2003, at about 1:50 a.m.,
Foothill officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 10500 block
of El Dorado Avenue. When the officers arrived, they were advised by
witnesses that a victim of a shooting had been transported to a local
hospital by private vehicle.
The officers investigation revealed that the victim was visiting with
friends outside of his residence when a vehicle containing four male
Hispanics drove up to the location. The driver and the other males exited
the vehicle and approached the victim. The driver attempted to engage the
victim in a conversation, then suddenly armed himself with a handgun and
shot the victim multiple times. The victim’s family placed the victim in
their private vehicle and drove to the hospital when they came upon foothill
patrol officers . The officers were advised and immediately summoned for
paramedics.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced 26
year-old Jaime Rocha dead at the scene.
The motive and the suspect(s) identity are unknown at this time.
