"Drive by Shooting Results in Homicide"

 

Los Angeles: On Sunday, October 26, 2003, at about 3:30 am., the victim 21 year-old Julio Nunez and a companion were sitting in Nunez’s vehicle in the 4900 block of August Street. The suspects drove up to Nunez’s vehicle then drove away. A short time later, the suspect’s vehicle returned. One suspect got out of the car and approached Nunez’s vehicle and fired multiple times through the driver’s door.

Nunez and his companion drove away from the scene to a gas station located in the 3700 block of south La Brea Avenue. Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Nunez dead at the scene.

During a follow-up investigation, one suspect was identified as 20 year-old Akim Azee Ammad. Southwest Homicide Detectives arrested Ammad for Murder, 187(A) PC.
