Why:
This year's theme is "Building Safer Communities" which will focus on crime prevention and quality of life issues.

Northeast area consists of 22 diverse communities with about 250,000 residents.  This event will showcase the LAPD with displays from SWAT, K-9 Unit, LAFD and much more.  Northeast Area Reserve Officers will be present to provide guided tours of our Detective Section and Watch Commander's office.

There will be activities for all ages.  A live DJ will be on hand to provide music for entertainment as well as a moon bounce for the kids and free balloons will be given away.  Halloween safety tips will be provided to youngsters and parents to ensure a safe and enjoyable Halloween.

Free Hot Dogs for kids, ages 12 and under along with a barbecue fundraiser will be provided by our local area business police support group, BLEND (Business For Law Enforcement Northeast Division) and the Community Police Advisory Board (C-PAB).

The event is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate participation in local anti-crime efforts and to strengthen neighborhood-police community partnerships.  We all want to "STOP THE VIOLENCE!"
