Pedestrian Killed in Hollywood

Los Angeles: Two pedestrians were struck by vehicles while they were crossing Sunset Boulevard at Crescent Heights.  One of them, a man in his 40s, was killed at the scene.

On October 14, 2005, at about 2:30 PM, a 2001 Honda Accord negotiated a left turn from westbound Sunset Boulevard to southbound Crescent Heights Avenue when collided with 1995 Ford F-150 truck, which was eastbound on Sunset Boulevard.  The force of the collision caused the both vehicles to travel in a southeasterly direction.  Each vehicle then collided with pedestrians who were in the crosswalk.

The driver of the Honda and one of the pedestrians were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

The identity of the deceased pedestrian is being withheld pending notification to his family.

The collision is being investigated by West Traffic Detectives to determine if any criminal negligence exists.

Anyone with information is requested to contact West Traffic Division Detectives Davis and Hutchings at 213-473-0234.  On weekends or during off-hours, contact the toll free 24-hour number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
