Sexual Attack Suspect Sought in Silverlake District

Los Angeles:  Rampart Area Sex Crimes Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect who is wanted for an attempt sexual assault that occurred in the 1400 block of Lucille Avenue in the Silverlake District of Los Angeles. 

The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, around 1:00 p.m., when a male between 25-30 years of age told a woman that he was conducting research in her residential neighborhood.  When she opened the front door to greet him, he pushed her back into the home and forced her to the ground, where a violent struggle began.  The victim was successful in fending off the suspect, who then ran out of the victim’s home.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic with a slender to medium build.  He has short straight hair, stands approximately 5'7", and was armed with a knife.
