Party Results in Two Dead, One in Critical Condition

Los Angeles: A fight at a party in South Los Angeles resulted in three men being shot.  Two died at the scene and one is in critical condition at a local hospital.

On Saturday, October 15, 2005, at about 10:40 p.m., officers from Southeast Division responded to a radio call of a "Shooting" in the 100 block of West 99th Street.  There was a party in the rear yard of a home, and a large group of people were dispersing as officers arrived.  A group of men were involved in a fight that resulted in several men leaving the party.  A short time later two of the men returned, one armed with a handgun.  The suspect shot three men at the party.  One victim was identified as 24-year-old Vicente Zuniga, who died at the scene. A second victim, a 29-year-old male Hispanic, also died at the scene as a result of his injuries.  A third person, a 21-year-old male Hispanic, was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The identities of two victims are being withheld pending notification to their families.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Southeast Homicide Detectives, at 213-972-7816. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
