West Los Angeles Area Open House


What:
West Los Angeles Division's Open House and Community Event.

When:
Saturday, October 14, 2006
11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Where:
LAPD West Los Angeles Station
1663 Butler Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90025

Who:
Captain Carol Aborn- West L.A. Area Commanding Officer
Captain Kevin McClure- West L.A. Patrol Commanding Officer
West Los Angeles sworn and civilian personnel

Why:
This fun-filled annual event allows the residents to become familiar with the officers and command staff that serve the West LA communities. Officers from specialized units such as SWAT, Metro, Narcotics, Air Support and Mounted units will be present to answer questions and do various demonstrations. Attendees will have an opportunity to use the Department's Firearms Training Simulator which will allow them to place themselves in the role of a police officer in shoot/Don't shoot scenarios. Guided station tours will be given throughout the day.

A "fun flight" Bouncer/slide and other fun activities will be provided for the children at no cost. A free Bar-B-Que will also be served to everyone attending this event.
