Nearing the End of the Dig

What:
Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement, other governmental service providers and volunteers are nearing the end of a dig near a section of the 23 Freeway at the Tierra Rejada overpass.   

When:
Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

Where:
The dig site is in the northwest quadrant of the 23 Freeway overpass of Tierra Rejada Boulevard.  The southbound exit for Tierra Rejada on the 23 Freeway will be closed.  Media vehicles and personnel should approach the dig site on Tierra Rejada Road.   Uniformed personnel will direct the media northbound (the wrong way) on the closed Tierra Rejada exit ramp.

Why:
At 11:00 a.m., absent some compelling evidence, the search for the remains of Roger Dale Madison will be concluded.  Chaplains will preside over a memorial service for Roger Dale Madison at the dig site.  Roger Dale Madison’s sister will be present.  

Special thanks will be given to area residents who graciously arrived with water and food.  Earth moving companies who volunteer their equipment and operators will be recognized.
