Officer’s Gun Fires Accidentally at His Home

Los Angeles-  An off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer was cleaning his gun on August 4, 2008, when it accidentally fired.

LAPD Sergeant Ken Santolla was cleaning his gun at home, in a location outside of the City of Los Angeles, when it inadvertently fired. He has 29 years with the Department.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage. The Department’s Jail Division is investigating the incident.
