Motorist and Pedestrian Die in Collision

Los Angeles: A Winnetka teenager and the driver who caused a three car accident was killed yesterday afternoon in Woodland Hills.

At about 5:00 p.m., a 2005 Kia Rio was being driven west on Ventura Boulevard, near Kelvin Avenue, when it struck 15-year-old, Patrick DeMesa inside the crosswalk.  The Kia continued out of control and collided with a 1998 Buick Century traveling south on Kelvin Avenue.  The impact of the collision caused the Buick to crash into a 2008 Lexus ES350 traveling east on Ventura Blvd.  

The teenager died at the scene.  He was resident of Winnetka and a student at El Camino Real High School.

The female driver of the Kia was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. She be will designated as Jane Doe pending identification. The other involved parties received only minor injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed this accident or may have any information related to this incident is asked to contact Valley Traffic detectives at 818-644-8026.
