Chief Bratton Response to DNA Backlog

Los Angeles:  All victims of rape deserve justice and all rapists deserve prison.  By steadily increasing the Los Angeles Police Department's ability to process DNA evidence, we can reach these two goals over the next several years.  I applaud the efforts of the Mayor, the City Council and the City Controller to get the Department the needed funding for these efforts.  They have given us a tremendous opportunity that will not be wasted.

We are committed to testing all viable evidence contained in our DNA backlog. The political, will demonstrated here, puts us on the road to the realization of that commitment.
