Pedestrian Fatally Struck by a Vehicle NR12478cn
Los Angeles: On Friday, October 12, 2012, at around 10:30 p.m., an unidentified pedestrian described as a male Hispanic in his late 30s wearing dark clothing was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital where he later died. The accident occurred in the 200 Block of South Rampart Blvd as he tried to cross eastbound on Rampart Boulevard between parked vehicles. He was struck by a 2011 Chevy Equinox heading north on Rampart Boulevard by a 48-year-old Cypress resident.
The driver displayed no evidence of intoxication and remained at scene for the arrival of fire and police personnel. The primary collision factor in this collision was against the pedestrian for crossing outside of a crosswalk. This case is under investigation by LAPD Central Traffic Detectives.
