WHY:
The LAPD Explorer Program, a long-standing youth program, is staffed by some of the Department’s finest officers with extensive experience in youth programs.
The academy is twelve weeks long and requires a mandatory attendance on Saturdays. Students are taught basic law enforcement skills, physical fitness, problem solving skills and are expose to curriculum focused on directing young men and women toward a career in law enforcement.
There are 175 candidates in this class.
