Update

On June 10, 2013, Devante Fitzgerald returned home in good condition.

Los Angeles:
The family of Devante Fitzgerald and the Los Angeles Police Department Rampart Division are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

On June 9, 2013, around 6:30 p.m., Devante was last seen riding his black mountain bicycle outside his residence in the 4400 block of Lockwood Avenue, in the city of Los Angeles.  He has not been seen or heard from since and his family is extremely concerned for his welfare.  Devante also has a curfew of 7:00 p.m. and is always home on time.

Sometime after 7:00 p.m., when Devante did not come home, Mr. Fitzgerald tried to look for his son.  He visited one of Devante’s friends home and discovered he was not there.  He also tried calling his cell phone but there was no answer.  Around 11:00 p.m., when Mr. Fitzgerald could not find his son, he called the police and reported Devante missing.

This is the first time that Devante has not come home.

Devante is described as a 13-year-old Black male with a medium complexion, black hair with a short Afro style, and brown eyes.  He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.  He was wearing a black shirt, black shorts, and blue / white Nike shoes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Devante Fitzgerald is asked to contact Rampart Detective Gabriel Rivas at (213) 484-3050. During non business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247).  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone. All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
