Youth Victim of Gang Violence

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Homicide Unit is seeking help from the community to solve the murder of 15-year-old Jairo Caramo.

On Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at about 9:40 p.m., young Jairo was standing on the sidewalk near 159 North Douglas Street when a white Chevy Blazer drove up. A person got out of the SUV and fired several shots from a semi-automatic handgun, hitting Jairo several times

Police arrived to find the victim lying on the sidewalk. He died at the scene.

Detectives believe the incident is gang related, but have little else to go on. They are asking for any help the public can provide.
