LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
SEPTEMBER 23, 1998
On Thursday, September 24, 1998 at 1100 hours to 1400 hours West Los Angeles Area will be paying a special tribute to Sergeant Andrew Vogue.

Sergeant Vogue joined the Los Angeles Police Department on July 7, 1986. He was quickly recognized for his dedication to serving the community wherever he worked. Among his assignments were Devonshire, 77th Street, Rampart, Van Nuys and West Los Angeles Areas, and he achieved the ranks of Police Officer, Training Officer, Senior Lead Officer and Sergeant. Sergeant Vogue was commended on numerous occasions by citizens of Los Angeles and by his commanding officers for providing that extra measure of personal service, concern and compassion that brought not only credit to himself but to the Los Angeles Police Department and the City of Los Angeles.

Although Sergeant Vogue was stricken by terminal cancer, he continued to work serving the community until shortly before he died. He is survived by his wife of six years, Lisa, a school teacher and two sons, Sam 3 years and Joey 10 months.

Sergeant Vogue's colleagues at the West Los Angeles Area Community Police Station are naming the lunchroom (his favorite place) in his memory in a special dedication on September 24, 1998, at 1130 hours.

In addition West Los Angeles Division will be selling our famous "Turbo Burgers" with proceeds going towards the "Voge Children fund." Lunch is $6.00 which includes: Turbo burger or turkey burger, chips, salad and soft drink.

You may call (310) 575-8404 or see the West Los Angeles Area Community Police Station Watch Commander for tickets for information.
