Taxi Cab Driver Killed During Carjack

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, September 7, 1999

Central Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the murder of male Hispanic, 42 years of age.

On Monday, September 6, 1999, at approximately 9:00 P.M., the victim was operating a taxicab in the vicinity of the 800 block of S. Flower Street in downtown Los Angeles. The victim was shot and killed during an apparent car jacking.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic 30-35 years of age and was last seen fleeing southbound Flower Street in the victim's yellow 'Long Beach Taxi Company' taxicab.

The victim's identity is being with held pending notification to next of kin.

There is no additional information available at this time.
