Hit and Run Driver Flees After Striking Pedestrian

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT

Thursday, September 9, 1999

On Wednesday, September 8, 1999, at approximately 7:45 a.m., 19 year old Maibel Gonzalez had exited the bus at the intersection of Paxton and Bradley in the city of Pacoima. Gonzalez was crossing the street northbound Bradley at Paxton Street when a vehicle that was traveling southbound Bradley to eastbound Paxton Street struck Gonzales. The driver of the vehicle parked the car and spoke to Gonzalez who was laying on the street. The driver fled the scene on foot without identifying himself or rending aid to Gonzalez.

The suspect's vehicle was impounded. Gonzalez was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department to Holy Cross Hospital. She was treated for her injuries and was later released.
