Victim Discovered Dead While Seated in Truck

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Monday, September 13, 1999

On Friday, September 10, 1999, at approximately 11:50 a.m., North Hollywood Patrol Officers responded to an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon/ Shots Fired" call in the 12200 block of Otsego Street, in Studio City. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21 year-old Edward Rodriguez from Studio City slumped down in the driver's seat of his 1988 Ford pick-up truck. Mr. Rodriguez had been shot multiple times in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue personnel.

The identity of the suspect(s) and motive for this killing have not been determined, but North Hollywood Area Detectives are investigating. The murder does not appear to be gang related at this time.
