Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Metropolitan Dispatch Center

Friday, September 3, 1999

WHAT:
The Los Angeles Police Department is having a ground breaking ceremony for the Metropolitan Dispatch Center

WHEN:
Thursday, September 23, 1999
1:30 p.m.

WHERE:
Adjacent to Parker Center
150 North Los Angeles Street
Los Angeles, California 90012

WHY:
To formally commence the building of the Metropolitan Dispatch Center. The building will be 58,000 square feet, which will include an operations floor of 15,000 square feet accommodating 80 consoles. This project is funded by Proposition M, approved by the voters in November 1992.

Mayor Richard Riordan, Chief Bernard Parks and Councilmember Rita Walters will be among the dignitaries present for this special occasion.
