Two Teenagers Shot in Apparent Gang Related Incident

PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, September 22, 1999

On Tuesday, September 21,1999 at approximately 8:00 PM, a double shooting occurred in the area of 41 St Place and Figueroa Street. An unidentified suspect shot both victims with an unknown type handgun. The suspect possibly fled from the scene in a Gray or Blue vehicle.

The victims were transported by LAFD Rescue Ambulance to a local hospital where they were admitted for gunshot wounds. The condition of the victims is described as critical. Both victims are Male Hispanics, ages 13 and 14 years old and their names are not available due to their age. The victims are related to each other.

The motive of this shooting incident appears gang related.

This investigation is being conducted by Southwest Area Homicide Detectives Brent Josephson and Bruce Hosea. Anyone with information regarding this incident may contact Detectives Josephson and Hosea at 213-485-6570.
