Victim Confronted and Shot by Apparent Gang Members

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Friday, September 24, 1999

On Thursday, September 23, 1999 at approximately 6:00 P.M., the victim went to the 14600 block of Lanark, Panorama City and was immediately confronted by multiple suspects. The suspects chased the victim and shot him multiple times. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Carlos Mora, 19 years of age. The motive appears to be gang related. The suspects are only described as male, Hispanics. The suspects vehicle is described as a Chevrolet/Beretta, 2-Door, Maroon. The suspects and weapon are outstanding.

Van Nuys Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation. Anyone with information on this incident should call 818-756-8377.
