"DUI Driver Involved in Traffic Collision Injures Four"

Mid City: On September 25, 2000 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Venice Boulevard. A 1997 Toyota 4-Runner, driven by Jennifer Bratton, a 36-year-old resident of Culver City, was northbound on Crenshaw Boulevard. According to witnesses, Bratton failed to stop for the red light and collided with the driver side of a 1989 Chevrolet Astrovan westbound on Venice Boulevard. The four occupants of the minivan sustained injuries ranging from complained of pain to severe injuries. Their names are not being released at this time.

Bratton sustained injuries to her left wrist and ankle. X-rays are pending at this time. Bratton displayed symptoms of being under the influence of drugs and was arrested for 23153 (a) VC (Felony DUI).

The investigation is on going, and is being conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division. Officer D. Kemble is the primary investigator and can be reached, if necessary, at 213-473-0227.
