Explorers are committed to public service, including community service and crime prevention to all areas of Los Angeles. Explorers volunteered over 80,659 hours for the year of 2000. For the year of 2001, Explorers have already completed over 30,000 hours of public service.

It is anticipated that over 450 guests will attend the inspection and the presentation. Chief Bernard C. Parks will be the guest speaker and honor the Stern family. Los Angeles Police Department command staff will be in attendance, as well as special guests.
