Newton Detectives Investigate Homicide on East 28th Street

"Newton Detectives Investigate Homicide on East 28th Street"

 

Los Angeles: On Saturday, September 15, 2001, at approximately 10:15 P.M., a 39-year-old female was shot and killed inside her residence at 1128 E. 28th Street. She was living at the location with Charles Childs, age 47. They became involved in an argument and Childs shot her one time in the head and then called for an ambulance.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead on arrival. Offices arrested Mr. Charles Childs at the scene without incident. He was booked for Murder. The murder weapon, a semi-automatic pistol, was recovered at the location.

Newton Homicide Detectives G. McKnight and R. Solorza are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information that may assist this investigation can contact the detectives at 323-846-6556 or Newton Patrol 323-846-6547.
