"Convenience Store Shooting Leaves One Dead in Northeast"

Los Angeles: On Saturday, September 15, 2001, at approximately 1:44 A.M., Federico Gonzalez, 23 years of age, was in the 7-11 store at 1910 Colorado Boulevard. A male Hispanic, 22 to 23 years of age, already inside the store and at the counter, armed himself with a large caliber handgun and shot the victim several times. The suspect exited the store and entered a waiting white vehicle and made his escape.

Fire department personnel responded and transported the victim to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he died at 5:32 A.M., as a result of his injuries.

Northeast Area Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation and are asking for the Public's assistance. Detectives can be reached at 213-847-4261 and information can be left after hours at 213-485-2563.
