Tribute to Victims of Terrorist Attack

First Annual LAPD vs. LASD Baseball Game

Saturday, September 22, 2001, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • Richard Alarcon, California State Senator

  • Tony Cardenas, California State Assemblyman

  • Zev Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles County Supervisor

  • Alex Padilla, Los Angeles City Council President

  • Dennis Zine, Los Angeles City Councilman

  • Felipe Fuentes, Los Angeles City Deputy Mayor

  • Lee Baca, Los Angeles County Sheriff

  • Bernard C. Parks, Los Angeles Police Chief

Sylmar: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department (LASD), and the Manny Mota International foundation planned this event several months ago. Due to the recent loss of New York City Police Officers, Fire Fighters, and innocent civilians, the LAPD and the LASD would like to continue with this event to help in the healing process and to pay tribute and rally for those who perished.

There will be a baseball game between the LAPD and the LASD as well as;

  • Toy Drive for underprivileged children

  • Free health fair clinic

  • Recruitment booths

  • Live band concert

  • Food and beverages

  • Sport contests

  • Prize drawings and giveaways
