Newton Detectives Investigate Homicide on South Broadway

"Newton Detectives Investigate Homicide on South Broadway"

 

Los Angeles: On Friday, September 21, 2001, at approximately 3:10 P.M., a 20-year-old male Black was shot and killed in front of 4030 S Broadway. The victim was involved in a physical altercation with a male Hispanic when the male Hispanic retrieved a handgun and shot the victim twice in the chest.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.

The victim has not been identified.

The cause of the argument has not been determined. The suspect and the weapon remain outstanding.

Detectives M. Spillane and R. Flores, Newton Operations Support Division, Homicide Section, are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information that can assist in this investigation is urged to call 323-846-6556 or 323-846-6547.
