Newton Detectives Investigate Shooting on East 60th Street

"Newton Detectives Investigate Shooting on East 60th Street"

 

Los Angeles: On Saturday, September 22, 2001 at 9:00 P.M., workers in the area of 650 E. 60th Street reported hearing gunshots in the area. Police responded and observed the body of a male Hispanic approximately 30 years of age lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead from gun shot wounds.

The victim did not have any identification on his body and remains unidentified at this time.

The area of the crime is an industrial area with the businesses on both sides adjoining the roadway.

The motive for this crime is unknown. The suspect or suspects and the weapon used are outstanding.

Detectives G. McKnight and R. Solorza, Newton Operations Support Division, Homicide Section, are in charge of the investigation. Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is urged to call 323-846-6556, or Newton Patrol at 323-846-6547.
