LAPD Officers Sing At the Hollywood Bowl
Los Angeles: Over the Labor Day weekend, August 30, 31, and September 1, 2002, Los Angeles Police Department personnel delighted the Hollywood Bowl audience while participating in a patriotic celebration honoring New York City.
Titled "New York, New York," the LAPD officers, sergeants and detectives, accompanied NYPD singer Daniel Rodriguez as a show of support for the national tragedy that occurred in New York City on September 11, 2001.
The officers included Detectives Debbie Gourman, Rosalind Iiams, Elizabeth Estupinian, E.T.Gibson, and Marcell Morris. Sergeants Gia Goyen, Marianus Vonkorff, and Philander Butler were also members of the choral group which included Officers Ray Rangel, Jhoel Dejesus and Oscar Villaneuva.
Receiving a tremendous ovation from the overflow crowd of 17,000 audience members, the LAPD singers were warmly praised by the Bowl Conductor, John Mauceri.
