A Press Conference Announcing the $25,000 Reward for Information Leading to the Arrest of Levon Tashchyan’s Killer.

Intersection of Sotello Street and Main Street, Los Angeles

Los Angeles: On December 9, 2002 at approximately 3:30 a.m., 32 year-old Levon Tashchyan of Los Angeles, was driving his 1997 Infiniti eastbound on Sotello Street, when an unknown gunman fired two shots at him and killed the downtown businessman.

A nearby security guard, who was at his post, heard the first shot. Turning toward the direction of the gunfire, the guard observed an unknown person standing in the street with his arm extended toward Tashchyan’s vehicle, The guard then heard a second gunshot. Continuing to travel eastbound on Sotello Street, Tashchyan’s vehicle crashed into a chain-link fence at the end of the block. Responding LAPD officers discovered Tashchyan fatally wounded inside his car and LAPD Central Area Homicide Detectives have not determined a motive.

Photos of victim Tashchyan will be available, and Tashchyan family members will also be present at the press conference.
