"Physical Altercation Results in Stabbing Death"
 

Los Angeles: On Sunday, September 8, 2002 at 11:35 p.m., the victim, a male Black in his 40’s, was involved in a physical altercation with six male Blacks and possibly one female Black for unknown reasons. This altercation took place in the 600 block of San Julian Street. During the altercation one of the suspects stepped back, made verbal threats and stabbed the victim several times in the abdomen.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim to Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center Hospital. The victim died as a result of his injuries at 1:02 am, September 9, 2002.
The suspects have not been identified as of this time. The motive for the altercation or the stabbing is under investigation.
