Attempted Robbery Ends in Senseless Shooting

Los Angeles: Newton Detectives are investigating the murder of a 30 year-old male Hispanic.
On Monday, September 8, 2003, at about 7:30 p.m., Rosalio Camacho was shot and killed in the 6000 block of South Broadway. It appears that Camacho was walking with a friend when two male Blacks approached them on foot. The two suspects attempted to rob Camacho and his friend, when one of them shot Camacho for no apparent reason. Both suspects left the area on foot. Camacho was transported to a local hospital where he failed to responded to treatment and died.
The motive for the shooting appears to gang related.
