Los Angeles: On Saturday September 13, 2003, at 12:15 a.m., Hollywood Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an Assault With a Deadly Weapon, with shots fired, at 8033 Hollywood Boulevard.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they found a male Hispanic, lying on the ground, who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim did not respond to life saving treatment and died at 2:37 a.m.

The victim has been identified as Cesar Garnica, a 30-year-old resident of Southgate.

The investigation has revealed that the victim and numerous other members of a Huntington Park motorcycle club were traveling westbound on Hollywood Boulevard when they became involved in a "road rage" type incident with the occupants of a burgundy BMW. The BMW possibly struck the victim’s motorcycle and the victim jumped on the hood of the BMW. One of the occupants of the BMW subsequently shot the victim.

The BMW was pursued into North Hollywood by friends of the victim. The vehicle was last seen in the area of Irvine Street and Magnolia Boulevard.

The occupants of the BMW are described as follows: Suspect No. 1 is a male, possible Armenian, 20/25 years-of-age, shaved head, with a vertical tattoo on his inner left arm. Suspect No. 2 is described as a male, possible Armenian, 25/30 years-of-age, heavy set, with thick eyebrows and a moustache. Suspect No. 3 is described only as a male. The vehicle is described as a 1998/1999 BMW 325I burgundy, with tinted windows and chrome rims. The vehicle also has a shattered front windshield.
