Los Angeles:  Wilshire detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man leaving a party in the 4900 block of West 21st Street on Saturday.

On September 24, 2005, at about 12:45 a.m., Jesse Becerra, a 24-year-old male Hispanic, was walking westbound on 21st street towards La Brea Avenue.  The suspect, also a male Hispanic, ran up to the victim and began shooting numerous times from a handgun.  The victim fell to the ground while the suspect continued to shoot.  The suspect then ran from the location and fled the area westbound on 21st Street towards La Brea Avenue, possibly in a 1999-2001 black, Lincoln Navigator, 4 door with tinted windows.

The suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, standing 5'5" – 5'7" tall, weighing about 125 pounds, with a buzzed haircut or possibly bald, clean shaven, wearing a short sleeve pink/orange shirt and baggy pants.

The weapon is described only as a dark colored handgun.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
